David Bowermaster is founder and CEO of Fireside Strategy, a strategic communications consultancy with a primary focus on philanthropy, family offices, and the nonprofit sector. He is an experienced communicator, storyteller, and collaborator who has partnered with global leaders in philanthropy, technology, law, and policy.
In addition to his work at Fireside, he is a contributor to Forbes covering trends in global philanthropy and impact investing. Previously, he led communications for the Giving Pledge and the Philanthropic Partnerships team at the Gates Foundation, directed communications for the Raikes Foundation, and handled legal and online privacy issues at Microsoft.
Dave began his career as a journalist covering politics and business at US News and World Report, MSNBC, and the Seattle Times. He was a Fulbright scholar and has degrees from the University of Chicago and Colorado College.
Outside of work Dave is a trustee of the Evergreen School in Shoreline, WA, and spends as much time as he can frolicking in the Cascades with his wife, Annie, and son, Theo.
